Hot Air Balloon Ride in Luxor — an exhilarating adventure that offers unforgettable impressions and a unique view of Ancient Egypt. It is one of the most popular tourist activities in the city, and for good reason. Here’s how the flight usually goes:
Preparation & Sunrise
It all begins before dawn. Tour companies pick you up from your hotel very early to ensure you arrive in time for the flight. You are taken to a special launch site on the west bank of the Nile, where dozens of balloons are being prepared for take-off.As the balloons are filled with hot air, you can watch them slowly rise and take shape. This spectacle alone is truly impressive.
Take-off & Flight
Once the balloon is ready, you step into the basket with a small group (usually up to 20 people). The take-off is smooth and almost unnoticeable. The balloon gently lifts into the air, revealing an incredible panorama.As the sun rises above the horizon, its rays illuminate the ancient temples, tombs, and fields. From a bird’s-eye view, everything looks entirely different, offering a magical and unforgettable perspective

Day 1
Departure from the hotel around 17:00 (exact time confirmed after booking; road takes about 4 hours).
Arrival in Luxor at the hotel for overnight stay at approximately 21:00.
Day 2
Around 06:00 transfer to the balloon launch site (time may vary depending on flight permits).
Hot air balloon flight of approximately 40 minutes at sunrise.
Return to Hurghada around 11:00.
Cost (total price; the more people, the lower the price per person):
1 person = $240 (minimum trip cost).
2 people = $280 (total).
3 people = $350 (total).
4 people = $450 (total).
5 or 6 people = +$60 per person to the 4-person price.
Balloon flight only (departure from a Luxor hotel) = $55 / person.
It is possible to arrange a group 2-day tour: Luxor (standard programs) + hot air balloon early next morning. Overnight at a 2-3* hotel in Luxor. Lunch and breakfast included. Return to Hurghada by group bus in the evening, pick-up from Luxor hotel around 16:00 (time may change). After the balloon ride, breakfast at the hotel and free time before departure.
Price: from 2 people = Group tour price + $95 per person.
For solo travelers or more than 2 people — price on request.
You can also choose the group program “Super New Luxor + Dendera” (2 days) = $110 and add a balloon flight as an extra for $50 per person.
P.S.: The group tour is slightly more expensive per person compared to the private option, but in the group tour you enjoy a full Luxor excursion, while in the private one mentioned above — only transfer, hotel, and the balloon flight.
A prepayment of $50 per person is required to secure the permit, vehicle, and guide booking. Refundable if canceled more than 24 hours before departure.
A passport photo of all participants must be sent to arrange the tourist permit with the police.
Standard Luxor hotel is 2-3⭐️, for overnight stay only. Higher category hotels available on request (extra cost). Nearby is the old town where you can stroll in the evening and visit shops or cafes. Safe, but we recommend having mobile internet or an offline map app.
If you travel to Luxor independently, we can offer only the balloon flight from your designated location = $55 per person.
⚠️ Important:
The balloon flight lasts about 30-40 minutes.
We cannot guarantee 100% that the flight will take place, as it may be canceled due to weather or other reasons beyond our control.
In case of cancellation, a refund of $50 per person will be issued.
