Monastery of Saint Anthony
This place is the cradle of Christian monasticism. Founded by the disciples of Saint Anthony the Great, the monastery stands as a living testimony to his spiritual legacy. As you enter its grounds, you are welcomed by coolness and silence. The thick walls, like a fortress, protect from the outside world, while inside lies a true oasis: lush gardens, wells with life-giving water, and magnificent churches, whose walls are adorned with frescoes that have preserved their color and energy since ancient times.

Monastery of Saint Paul
Not far away, surrounded by wild mountains, lies the Monastery of Saint Paul, dedicated to Paul of Thebes, the first Christian hermit. According to tradition, it was here that Saint Anthony came to meet his spiritual teacher.

This monastery, seemingly growing out of the rock, feels even more secluded and austere. Here you can see a spring that, according to legend, appeared through the prayer of Saint Paul. The atmosphere is filled with reverence and profound tranquility. Exploring the ancient cells and churches, you immerse yourself in the history of asceticism, where faith and nature merge into one.

Visiting these two monasteries is not just an excursion, but a pilgrimage to the origins of faith and an opportunity to feel the spirit of ancient monasticism. A journey into the desert to these sacred places will leave you with unforgettable impressions, filling your soul with peace and inspiration.
