Monastery of Saint Catherine
A journey to the Monastery of Saint Catherine from Sharm El Sheikh is not just an excursion but a true pilgrimage to one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world. Located at the foot of Mount Sinai, this monastery stands as a witness to millennia of history and remains a center of spiritual life.
The Monastery of Saint Catherine
Built in the 6th century, the monastery is surrounded by powerful fortress walls, resembling a medieval castle that hides incredible treasures inside. Walking through its ancient courtyards, you will feel as though every stone is imbued with reverence. You will learn about the life and martyrdom of Saint Catherine, whose relics are still preserved in the main church.
Holy Sites and Relics
Chapel of the Burning Bush: The main shrine of the monastery, built on the site where, according to tradition, God appeared to Moses in the burning but unconsumed bush. The atmosphere here is one of deep silence and spirituality.
Icon of the All-Seeing Eye: One of the oldest and most revered icons in the world.
Ancient Library: Home to one of the richest collections of ancient manuscripts in the world, including unique scrolls and parchments.
