Jebel Musa

Mount Moses, or Jebel Musa, is not just a mountain — it is a sacred place where, according to tradition, the Prophet Moses received the Ten Commandments from God.

Climbing this mountain is more than a physical challenge — it is a spiritual pilgrimage. You begin the ascent in complete darkness, lighting the way with a flashlight, and with every step you feel closer to the heavens. The path winds among rocks under a sky filled with stars like you’ve never seen before — countless constellations appearing almost within reach.

Reaching the summit brings the most magical moment — waiting for the sunrise. As the first rays of light break the horizon, the sky is painted in breathtaking shades of pink, orange, and purple. Slowly, the sun rises, illuminating the surrounding mountains, which resemble frozen waves of a stone ocean. A profound silence and serenity embrace the peak.

Here, you can feel alone with the universe and reflect on the eternal. The ascent of Mount Moses is not just a hike but a meditation, culminating in one of the most beautiful and unforgettable sunrises of your life.

After descending the mountain, the journey continues to one of the oldest working Christian monasteries in the world — Saint Catherine’s Monastery. Nestled at the foot of Mount Sinai, this sacred site dates back to the 6th century and was built by Emperor Justinian. The monastery is home to priceless ancient manuscripts, icons, and the legendary Burning Bush, believed to be the very bush through which God spoke to Moses.

Pilgrims and visitors often take a moment to pray in the monastery, allowing the spiritual experience of the mountain to find its completion in quiet reflection. Surrounded by thick stone walls and centuries of devotion, the atmosphere is deeply peaceful and humbling.

As you leave Saint Catherine’s Monastery, you carry with you not only photographs, but also a deep sense of inner peace, renewal, and connection — a journey that touches both the soul and the heart.
